Digibooks — Support

Last updated 17 August 2026.

The quickest way to reach a human is email. Write tosupport@denwoodstudio.com and we will answer, usually within a couple of days. It helps if you say which iPhone you have and which version of iOS it is running, and — if a particular book went wrong — which book.

How does the free book work?

Every copy of the app gets one free book. It is spent at the moment a book is first read off the pages, so photographing a book and changing your mind costs you nothing — the free book is still there. There is no sign-up and no trial period; the free book simply sits there until you use it.

How do I get more books? (Book Packs and book slots)

A book slot is the right to make one book, and Book Packs are how you buy more: one slot for A$2.99, or three for A$7.99. They are one-off purchases — there is no subscription and nothing renews.

The shop is offered at the point you need it. Photograph the next book and tapCreate digibook; if you have no slots left, Digibooks saysThis book needs a book slot and offers Buy book slots. There is nowhere else to buy them — you are not missing a shop elsewhere in the app.

I bought a pack and it hasn't appeared

A pack is added to your copy of the app once Apple confirms the purchase, which is usually immediate. If the app is offline at that moment, it catches up the next time it can reach us — so try opening it again with a working connection. If it still hasn't appeared, email support@denwoodstudio.comand we will sort it out.

Do my books move to a new phone?

Your finished books live on the phone, so they come across with your iPhone's own backup when you set the new phone up from it. Books you have paid for but not yet made are a different matter: they are held against that installed copy of the app, not against your Apple Account, so they do not survive moving to a new phone — or deleting the app and installing it again on the same one. Digibooks has no account to tie them to, which is the trade for never asking you to sign in. If you have lost unused books that way, email support@denwoodstudio.comand we will put them right.

Where are my books and the audio kept?

On your iPhone. There is no Digibooks library in the cloud, and your finished books are not copied to one. Because they are ordinary app files, they are included in your iPhone's backup. Deleting a book removes its pages and audio from the phone, and deleting the app removes all of them.

Which books work best?

Board books and picture books with printed words on the page. Digibooks reads the words off the photograph, so a book with no words, or with the words handwritten, will not have anything to read aloud. Photograph the cover first, then each spread in order. A new book is called Untitled book until you name it — tap the title on the book's screen and type the real one.

The words came out wrong

You can correct them. Open the book, edit the text of any page, then tapCreate digibook again — the app narrates the pages you changed. Correcting a page does not cost you another book.

Until you do that, the book counts as unfinished and drops off your child's shelf, so it is worth finishing the corrections in one go.

How do I hand the phone to my child?

Tap Read on a finished book, or My Bookshelf to hand over the whole shelf. The phone turns sideways by itself and shows nothing but the books — no menus and no links. To come back out, press and hold the bottom-left corner for two seconds.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Photographing pages uses the camera; you can also use photographs already in your library. Making a book needs an internet connection, because the reading and the narration happen on our side — reading a finished book does not.

I found a bug, or I have a suggestion

We would like to hear it. Emailsupport@denwoodstudio.com with what happened, and a screenshot if you have one.
